Lakemoor 5K will raise money for parks events

LAKEMOOR – The village of Lakemoor will host its first 5K this month.

The event will raise money to help cover the numerous events added to the parks and recreation schedule, parks and recreation coordinator John Guenther said.

Participants can walk or run the course, which starts at Morrison Park and circles around Lily Lake, following Venice Road down to Wegner Road and back up Lily Lake Road.

The first man and woman to finish will receive $200.

To qualify for the cash prize, runners must start at 8 a.m. June 22. Walkers can start anytime before 9:30 a.m.

The event wraps up at 11 a.m. Early registration ends at 4:30 p.m. June 19. The cost is $20 for those 16 years and older, $10 for those 12 to 15 years old, and free for those 11 and younger.

Forms can be picked up at the Lakemoor Village Hall, 28874 Route 120, Unit C and D, or can be found online at the village’s parks website, lakemoorparks.net.

Same-day registration starts at 7 a.m.
