DANVILLE, Ill. (AP) — An Eastern Illinois church has a new temporary home after a fire likely caused by a lightning strike destroyed its sanctuary.

Sunday services at Danville's Ridgeview Baptist Church will be held several blocks south at Executive Plaza.

Last weekend's fire caused about $1 million worth of damage to the church in the town along the Illinois-Indiana state line.

No one was in the church, and no injuries were reported.

Ridgeview leaders are working with adjusters to see if the sanctuary can be repaired or if it needs to be torn down and rebuilt.
