LAKE IN THE HILLS – The Lake in the Hills Parks and Recreation Department’s seventh annual triathlon will be at 6:30 a.m June 16.

The goal is to provide a “big city event with a small-town atmosphere.”

This event features a half-mile open water swim, a 15.5-mile bike ride and a 4-mile run. Highlights of the race include a time trial start – giving everyone space to swim, assigned bike racks with personalized slots, two transition areas and pre-race open water swim.

The registration is $65 a participant and can be done online at www.lith.org or www.signmeup.com.

The cutoff for online registration at Sign Me Up is 5 p.m. Wednesday, or when race registration has reached the maximum of 400 participants.

To register by mail or in person, submit the registration form (found at www.lith.org) and a check made payable to: Village of Lake in the Hills Attn: Triathlon, 600 Harvest Gate, Lake in the Hills, IL 60156.

No race-day registrations will be accepted.
