White Sox draft SS Anderson at No. 17

The White Sox drafted East Central Community College (MS) shortstop Tim Anderson tonight with the No. 17 pick.

Anderson, 19, was the second shortstop taken in the draft, one pick after the Phillies chose high schooler J.P. Crawford. Anderson was a first team NJCAA Division II All-American this season leading the nation with a .495 batting average and 62 runs scored while recording 41 stolen bases, second most in the country.
