Hindsight is 20-20

To the Editor:

It seemed like not so long ago during campaign season that Thorntons gas station was such a hot-button issue.

Thorntons will kill small business, create more traffic, and the list goes on and on about why it was going to be the end of Fox Lake as we know it.

I don’t know about you, but I drove by Thorntons the other day, and all I could say was, “Wow!” What a job they did with the brick work in the front. And can you believe it? An actual sidewalk.

Thorntons looks more like a hub of economic and social action rather than the creature
from the black lagoon.

Can you only imagine what a hotel would have looked like overlooking the water at Nippersink Park? We will never know, but looking at Thorntons, we can only envision what could have and should have been.

When the current administration cuts the red tape at the grand opening, smiling from ear to ear, just remember the amount of trash talk that was done against the previous administration because they wanted to get that gas station in this town.

Hindsight is 20-20.
