Lake in the Hills man ordered probation for child porn

WOODSTOCK – A Lake in the Hills man was sentenced to probation after he pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

Joseph J. Szykowny-Biegel, 20, will serve three years’ probation and undergo sex offender counseling in a plea agreement accepted Tuesday by McHenry County Judge Sharon Prather.

He also must pay a $1,000 fine.

Szykowny-Biegel in February 2011 was charged with two counts each of aggravated child pornography, a Class 2 felony, and child pornography, a Class 3 felony.

He pleaded guilty to one count of child pornography and the more serious charges were dropped.

Court documents say Szykowny-Biegel was in possession of computer images of a child that he reasonably should have known was under 18 years old engaging in a sex act with another.
