Should help scouts

To the Editor:

Kudos to McHenry County Jewish Congregation for stepping up and offering a meeting home to Boy Scout Troop 550.

This community always has put children first. Take a look at your property-tax bill, and you’ll see the vast majority of it goes to schools and parks.

It’s no surprise this has been a fertile ground for scouting as well. The Boy Scouts of America, according to its annual report, “believes that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible and productive society.”

All good stuff, right? Any institution, religious or otherwise, should be proud to be associated with them.
