True to beliefs

To the Editor:

In answer to Kenneth Bartels’ letter of June 8: WWJD?

He would love the sinner but hate the sin. He would forgive the sinners if they were repentant, contrite and sinned no more.

Pope John Paul II coined the phrase, “The Culture of Death.” One of the main characteristics of the culture is ethical relativism, which means: “If I can justify it, it must be right!”

It is the blurring of the line between black and white, right and wrong.

Many politically correct statements are the product of this process. Unfortunately, what society feels is politically correct, trendy and becoming socially aware and accepted doesn’t wash with God!

The Bible is clear on marriage and sex outside of marriage. God values life at any stage of development. He is very clear on that, and no amount of social trending will change that.

Father Grady believes in God and what He has told us is right. Being a man of God, he followed his beliefs and did what he felt was right. He drew a line in the sand and said, “No, this is wrong.”

I doubt seriously if Father Grady wants to be a bishop, but what he wants is to be true to his convictions and beliefs.
