To the Editor:
As an old World War II veteran with a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart, I read my two newspapers June 6, and there was not one word about it being the anniversary of D-Day.
Just one paragraph would have been nice. Have we forgotten?
I’m sure the veterans who have fought for this country in all the wars didn’t forget.
Patriotism seems to be going down the drain. How many flags do you see flying on national holidays? Watching sporting events, you see people laughing, talking and drinking beer during the playing of our national anthem.
I guess a lot of people just don’t care.
Thanks to all our veterans’ organizations that work so hard for all our veterans. Too bad some people can care less.
