Woodstock Professional and Business Women to host garden walk

WOODSTOCK – The Woodstock Professional and Business Women will present the 21st annual Garden Walk from 1 to 7 p.m. June 20. The walk will be held rain or shine.

The event will feature six gardens. Two are in town, and four are in the countryside, each within a 10-minute drive from the Woodstock Square.

At “Cottage Ridge Gardens," find a wisteria climbing over a pergola. Hydrangeas, rambling roses, lavender and the gardener’s favorite daisies share the space with a pool and outdoor living space.

Visitors to the “I’m so Blue” garden will find a “pop” of blue and purple throughout the garden. A new water feature provides a finishing touch.

At “Collie Flower Farm,” a love of gardening turned an avid flower fan into a flower farmer. In addition to large perennial beds and a stunning outdoor living space, this property has rows of flowers grown for farmers markets, weddings and special occasions.

At the “Bird and Butterfly Haven,” a gravel path meanders past the white border into the shade garden and onto a mixed border. A fountain crowns the terraced garden.

In Bull Valley, “The Conifer Collection” features favorite conifers in every shape size and color. The 5-acre landscape also features an amazing rock garden.

“Home Again” is a house and garden envisioned as a refuge their busy lives. Lawns for croquet and badminton, and a pool for the children to enjoy.

Participants are invited to stroll through the gardens at a leisurely pace and get inspired, exchange gardening information or ask questions of the homeowner. The WPBW raffle will have valuable prizes donated by Woodstock businesses.

Advance tickets cost $13 at the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce, Seasons by Peg, Harris, Home State, and Golden Eagle banks in Woodstock. Tickets will be $15 on the day of the walk. Proceeds benefit the Frances Kuhn scholarships.

Tickets and maps will be available in the gazebo bandstand on the Woodstock Square from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. June 20.
