McHENRY – In an effort to meet the non-credit computer training needs of McHenry County residents, McHenry County College’s Workforce Training Program offers the Silver Series – a hands-on computer training for older adults, dislocated workers and others with little to no previous computer experience.

The Silver Series consists of two separate courses: Welcome to the World of Computers and Welcome to Microsoft Office 2010. The coursework provides an introduction for beginners, giving personal life examples by providing a step-by-step approach that ensures student success.

Welcome to the World of Computers is a five-session course scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon Wednesdays, July 10 through Aug. 7. Participants will learn how to use computers, the Windows operating system, the Internet, email basics, and word processing using Microsoft Word 2010. The fee for the World of Computers is $325. This course will be repeated from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m  on Wednesdays, Aug. 14 through Sept. 11.

Welcome to Microsoft Office 2010 will be offered from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings, June 19 through July 24; and from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesdays. Aug. 14 through Sept. 11. Fee is $325.
