American flag to be focus of Crystal Lake seniors event

CRYSTAL LAKE – The Crystal Lake Senior Citizens’ Club and Crystal Lake Senior Services Associates will host a special presentation June 24 about the history of the American flag offered by two Vietnam veterans, John White and Jim Mertz.

The event, which will be at noon at 110 W. Woodstock St., will start off with lunch provided by Beth Burg from Hearthstone Community, Woodstock, and Chrissy Blair of Crossroads Care Center of Woodstock. Mostaccioli, salad and garlic bread will be served. Crystal Lake Senior Citizens’ Club will provide the dessert.

After lunch, a local standup comic will entertain, then there will be a short Crystal Lake Senior Citizens’ Club meeting and the presentation.
