Cary police begin search in missing-person cold case

CARY – Police searched along Route 14 on Saturday as part of a 14-year-old missing person case.

The Cary Police Department continued the investigation into the disappearance of Chicago resident Wendy M. Kimura, who was 28 when she was last seen in May 1999 walking along Route 14 in Cary.

The police, along with other agencies, searched around the Arlington Club subdivision and Jack’s Channel, said Officer Jason Williamson.

Williamson did not have an update Saturday on the results of the search, which began about 6 a.m.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Cary Police Department at 847-639-2341 or leave an anonymous tip with Crimestoppers at 1-800-762-STOP.
