CARY – A fire on Saturday caused an unknown amount of damage to the second floor of a house on Fox Street, the Cary Fire Protection District said.

About 3:45 p.m. the owner of the house at 112 Fox St. heard alarms and smelled smoke, said Capt. Kevin Eriksen.

The fire was contained to one room, but there was smoke damage on the second floor, Eriksen said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the value of damage it left has yet to be determined, Eriksen said.

Crews were on the scene until about 6:30 p.m.
