Pickle Palooza music festival planned in Woodstock
WOODSTOCK – Claussen Pickle/Kraft Foods and the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce and Industry will present the Woodstock Pickle Palooza music festival from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. June 29 on the grounds of Woodstock Harley-Davidson, 2050 S. Eastwood Drive.
The music festival features The University at 11:35 a.m., Spoken Four at 1:15 p.m., Hollywood Records recording artist and winner of ABC’s 2011 summer smash "Karaoke Battle USA" Josh Scholl at 3:30 p.m., Johnny Russler & the Beach Bum Band at 5 p.m., country band Suburban Cowboys at 7 p.m., and headliner Wedding Banned at 9 p.m.
Cassandra Vohs-Demann will serve as the master of ceremonies for the second consecutive year. In addition to her emcee duties, Vohs-Demann will perform throughout the day at 4:30, 6:30, and 8:30 p.m. She also will sing the national anthem at 6:45 p.m.
The family-friendly event features games for children off all ages, including Pickle Toss, Find the Pickle and Pass the Pickle. A face painter and a walking pickle character will be on hand, and Arlene Lynes of Read Between the Lynes bookstore will read from a pickle-themed book at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
The Woodstock VFW will sell burger, brats, and hotdogs. Main Street Pour will offer deep fried pickles. Meanwhile, Kona Ice will sell gourmet Sno Cones. Beer, soda, pickletinis, and water also can be obtained with drink tickets, available to purchase at the event.
Parking for Pickle Palooza is free.
Admission is free to those 10 and under. Those 11 and older pay $10 at the door or $7 in advance via www.woodstockpicklepalooza.com.
