Pleased with response

To the Editor:

I am very pleased to see the generally positive response of the community toward the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts organizations in this uncomfortable situation with the Rev. Grady, the pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

Note that this does not appear to be an issue with the congregation. I made a single attempt the other day to speak with someone at the church to gain understanding for how they rationalize dismissing the Scout organizations and the sign in front of the church proclaiming “love the sinner, hate the sin.”

No one would engage in that discussion.

It would seem that loving from a safe distance is preferable to a Christ-like acceptance of young people interested in improving themselves. Shameful to say the least.
