MCHENRY – Centegra Hospital-McHenry Auxiliary awarded its annual health-care scholarship of $2,000 to four recipients June 11.
The scholarships were made possible by the auxilians who operate the Pink Door thrift shop located at 3741 W. Elm St. in McHenry and the Pink Lady gift shop located at Centegra Hospital-McHenry, 4201 Medical Center Drive, and an annual gala fundraiser.
The scholarship requires the applicants to be a high school graduate, currently enrolled in a health-care career program in at least a third year level, live in the Centegra Health System service area and be currently employed by Centegra, a Centegra volunteer or an immediate family member of a Centegra employee or volunteer. The recipients are Courtney McCutchan, Marla Jablonski, Carmen Paszternak and Kelly Hanrahan.
McCutchan is pursuing a bachelor of nursing degree at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She wants to become a nurse in labor and delivery or in the nursery of a hospital.
Jablonski is pursuing a bachelor of nursing degree at Winona State University in Winona, Minn. She plans to pursue a career in pediatric nursing.
Paszternak is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing at Chamberlain College of Nursing. She plans to become a medical-surgical nurse.
Hanrahan is pursuing a doctor of pharmacy degree at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
