First team

Singles

Aaron Waters

Marian Central, sr.

Waters won the Suburban Christian Conference and Cary-Grove Sectional tournaments. He went 2-2 at state, losing in the third consolation round.

Elisha Hougland

Hampshire, jr.

Hougland won the Fox Valley Conference tournament with a three-set win against Jacobs’ Kailash Panchapakesan and took second at the Elgin Sectional to qualify for the state finals. He won his opening-round match at state.

Kailash Panchapakesan

Jacobs, fr.

Panchapakesan, the Northwest Herald Player of the Year, went undefeated in the FVC at No. 1 singles as a freshman and helped the Golden Eagles to a share of the Valley Division title. He went 3-2 at state and advanced to the fourth round of the back draw.

Doubles

Bij Heydari/Brad Henning

Prairie Ridge, srs.

After struggling a bit during the regular season, Heydari and Henning came on strong to win the FVC tournament at No. 1 doubles and the Cary-Grove Sectional. They went 2-2 at state, losing in the third consolation round.

Brandon Sidor/Kingsley Bernardo

Jacobs, srs.

Sidor and Bernardo went undefeated at No. 1 doubles during the regular season and won the Elgin Sectional. They won their opening-round match at state.

Dennis Quitalig/Nick Higgin

McHenry, sr./jr.

Quitalig and Higgin placed third at the FVC tournament and second at the Cary-Grove Sectional. They went 1-2 at state, winning their first consolation round match.

Jack Lamar/Danny Van Bosch

Prairie Ridge, sr./jr.

Lamar and Van Bosch won the FVC tournament at No. 2 doubles and qualified for state at the Cary-Grove Sectional.
