WOODSTOCK – A Wonder Lake man with a previous criminal history of sex charges was sentenced to 11 years in prison for performing sex acts on a young girl.

Randy Earl Turner, 48, pleaded guilty Thursday to predatory criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony.

As part of a plea agreement accepted by McHenry County Judge Sharon Prather, additional sex charges against Turner were dropped.

In the summer months of 2006, Turner performed sex acts on a young girl, Assistant State's Attorney Patrick Kenneally said. Authorities at the time of his arrest said the victim's mother had allowed Turner to stay with them.

The victim was 7 years old at the time of the assault and later came forward with the allegations.

Turner had also had a conviction from the mid-1980s for sex charges, Kenneally said.

Turner must serve 85 percent, or nine years of his prison sentence. He will receive credit for time served in jail since March 7, 2012.

Class X felonies are punishable by between six and 30 years in prison.
