McHENRY – Three McHenry County men were charged Thursday in connection with a June 9 beating and robbery of a man who thought he was being driven to a party.

The victim reported to police that he was riding in a car driven by 22-year-old McHenry resident Lewis Peterson and two unknown subjects with the understanding that the four were headed to a party.

Instead, the victim was driven to a field near the 2000 block of Ringwood Road in McHenry where he was attacked and robbed of $1,000, he told police.

McHenry County Sheriff’s police were called and they later took Peterson into custody. During the investigation, 22-year-old Ryan J. Bond, of Lakemoor, and 23-year-old Andrew Rosing, of McHenry, were identified as the two other suspects involved in the robbery, police said.

The three were charged with Class 2 felony robbery, Class 3 felony theft and Class 4 mob action. Bond and Rosing were charged with Class A misdemeanor battery, and Peterson was charged with Class 3 felony aggravated battery.

All three are being held in the McHenry County Jail. Peterson and Rosing are being held on $50,000 bond, and Bond is being held on a $40,000 bond. They face up to seven years in prison on the most serious charges.
