District 26 school board members and Superintendent Brian Coleman on Monday gave their thanks and bid farewell on Monday to Director of Finance and Operations T. Ferrier, who joined Crystal Lake District 155 as the assistant superintendent of finance.
She joined District 26 in 2009 during a financially tumultuous time for the kindergarten-through-eighth-grade district.
Ferrier was one of the administrators who oversaw and recommended closing schools, cutting teaching positions and pushing for a bond referendum, among other things, in order to put the district on better financial footing, and secure the educational future of students, Coleman said.
"She understood that advocating for the future of the district and the future of our students, required difficult decisions today," Coleman said. "Mrs. Ferrier continued to ... represent the district's best interests during some challenging discussions and meetings ... knowing all too well that the right thing do, wasn't always going to be the most popular thing to do."
Jeffrey Schubert, who was with Carpentersville District 300, has been hired to be the Ferrier's replacement.
