Library to host henna program for women

CARY – The Cary Area Public Library will host a program for mothers and daughters next month.

“Mother/Daughter Henna Tattoos,” for girls in sixth grade and older with an adult, will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 16 at the library, 1606 Three Oaks Road.

Participants will learn about henna tattoos, then get a tattoo from a professional body artist. Register in person to pay a $5 per person fee (cash or check).

Former dietitian offers health classes

HUNTLEY – Former dietitian Norma Thompson will be teaching “A Healthier You” classes in July and August.

The classes run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 1, 8, 15 and 22, as well as Aug. 5, 12, 19 and 26, at Heartland Bank on Regency Square Parkway in Huntley.

Some of the topics to be covered are how to read food labels, the importance of whole food, the differences between good and bad fats and the right kind of salt for health. She also will answer questions and provide shopping tips.

The sessions are free, but donations would appreciated.
