County under flash flood warning

A flash flood warning remains in effect through 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning in McHenry County, according to the National Weather Service in Chicago.

The National Weather Service radar showed thunderstorms that have produced heavy rainfall across the area at around 5 a.m.

The radar indicated that between 2 to 3 inches of rain fell across northern portions of Winnebago, Boone and McHenry counties, with more isolated thunderstorms in the area capable of producing up to another inch of raining on Tuesday morning.
