The District 26 school board on Monday approved Geske and Sons, out Crystal Lake, to perform the Cary Junior High driveway replacement for $249,000. Engineers estimated the project would cost $302,000.

"We feel like we got a pretty good price," said Steve Fields, District 26 operations coordinator.

Fields said work will begin as soon as possible, and is scheduled to be completed by Aug. 9.

The project is set to include curbs.

"If it's going to be done right, we want it to last," said Superintendent Brian Coleman.
