ALGONQUIN – Effective Monday, the village of Algonquin will begin the "yellow" water status.

Yellow status means even-odd days of watering landscaping before 9 a.m. and after 6 p.m. Even addresses may water on even calendar days, and odd addresses may water on odd calendar days, before 9 a.m. and after 6 p.m.

All water classifications (green, yellow, orange and red) prohibit watering the law or landscaping between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The village is committed to conserving water and is strictly enforcing outside watering regulations. Violators will be ticketed.

To check the water system status, residents can look for signs posted on main village streets, visit www.algonquin.org or call Village Hall at 847-658-2700.

For information, call Katie Parkhurst, senior planner, at 847-658-4184.
