Too much pension focus

Published: Sunday, June 30, 2013 5:30 a.m. CST

To the Editor:

While reading the newspaper, it seems like our representatives are spending a lot of time, energy and money on their retirement/pension benefits.

It is time to put this issue on hold.

Get down to the business of paying the state’s bills. Set up a workable budget, keep programs going that helps residents – Pioneer Center, veteran benefits, establishing new business to help the employment, jobs to lower the unemployment situation.

Stop taking money from the senior-citizen account and cutting their budgets.

After we get our state into a better financial, workable government with the representatives doing their jobs, maybe we will be able to get back to their pension plan.

Meanwhile, maybe the politicians need to take a cut in their pay.
