Authorities search creek for missing man, dog

BARRINGTON – Officials say rescue crews have stopped searching for a man and a dog reported missing in a Lake Barrington creek.

Lt. Michael Brown of the Barrington Fire Department says crews searched a creek near Lake Barrington’s village hall much of Wednesday but stopped in the evening.

The Daily Herald reports that the search started after a witness reported seeing a man and a dog in the middle of Flint Creek, which was running very fast and filled with debris after the recent storms that hit suburban Chicago.

Brown says the search included the Lake County Swift Water Team as well as media helicopters. When nothing was found, the searched moved to the Fox River. But there were no signs of the man or the dog.
