Immigration mockery

Published: Monday, July 1, 2013 5:30 a.m. CST

To the Editor:

In regard to a recent letter to the editor, “Take immigration stand.”

I don’t believe anyone is against immigrants or immigration. The issue is entering the United States of America illegally.

The media and many of us use the word “immigrants” interchangeably with legal and illegal entry to this country. If you sneak into this country, you’re not any kind of immigrant.

I’m so sick of the excuse that they come here for a better life. Ask any person convicted of a crime why they cheated or broke the law (especially white-collar crime). It was probably for a better life.

I know something about legal immigration, and I’m repulsed by people that sneak into this great country.

They make a mockery of real immigrants.
