Tiffany to lead attorney association

CRYSTAL LAKE – Aleen Tiffany of Aleen R. Tiffany, P.C. in Crystal Lake was elected president of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel at the organization’s 49th annual meeting on June 21.

Tiffany has served as a member of the IDC Executive Committee for the past four years and previously served as a member of the organization’s Board of Directors since 2005. Tiffany also has served as chair of the IDC Trial Academy, Fall and Basic Skills Seminars. She was named the IDC Volunteer of the Year in 2008 and has been a member of the IDC since 1993.

Her practice includes all aspects of civil litigation, contractual risk transfer, with a primary focus on construction injury, contract, risk management and risk transfer, and related commercial general liability coverage matters.

Aleen has served as a judge and evaluator in national Moot Court and Mock Trial Advocacy competitions, as an arbitrator in First Party claims, and is a trained and approved arbitrator in the 19th and 22nd Judicial Circuit Mandatory Court-annexed Arbitration programs. She has written and lectured in various areas of Illinois tort law.

Prior to opening her own office, Tiffany was a partner with a large litigation firm in Chicago. During her 12-year tenure there, she served as vice chair of the firm’s Construction Practice Group, managing partner of the firm’s McHenry County office, co-chair of its Personal Lines Department and co-chair of the firm’s Hiring Committee.
