To the Editor:
Shame on you, village of Cary, for allowing another round of victims to move into homes located at the intersection of Sunset and Crest drives.
Extreme flooding of this corner has been an ongoing and much ignored issue for a number of years. The previous round of residents lost significant items of value, such as home contents and numerous automobiles.
The last straw for me and my husband was when interior walls collapsed that could have easily resulted in the death of one of my children.
We chose to walk away and hand the house over to the bank rather than sell an uninhabitable property to a hopeful homeowner who would ultimately be dragged through unspeakable hell.
Unbeknownst to us, banks do not need to disclose prior flooding that is not in their ownership history, hence more sales were completed. Loopholes, inaction and poor city management contributed to the extreme misfortune of the current residents.
Until people stop talking about this issue and real action is taken, victims will continue to jump off and on the hamster wheel located at this Cary intersection.
Thank you, village of Cary, for absolutely nothing. I hope you will step up and do the right thing by the latest round of residents.
