HUNTLEY – Huntley police issued 32 driver citations during a roadside safety check with the Illinois State Police on Friday night.

Both departments wrote 11 citations to motorists along Route 47, south of Route 62, in connection with driving with a suspended license or not having a valid license. Police issued 11 additional citations in connection with driving while uninsured and two others for marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession.

The Illinois Department of Transportation provides grant money to local police departments to conduct the roadside safety check, a program of the U.S. Transportation Department and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign.
