Sox's Crain, Sale and Cubs' Wood selected for All-Star Game

White Sox reliever Jesse Crain and starting pitcher Chris Sale have been named to the American League All-Star team. Starting pitcher Travis Wood will represent the Cubs on the National League team.

Crain, currently on the disabled list, will not be able to pitch in next week's All-Star Game. Crain has a 0.74 ERA, allowing only three earned runs in 36 2/3 innings this season. Sale owns a 5-7 record with a 2.79 ERA. He has struck out 114 batters in 106 1/3 innings. It is the first All-Star appearance for Crain and the second for Sale.

Wood, a first-time All-Star, is 5-6 this season with a 2.69 ERA, which ranks in the top 10 in the NL.
