Preparedness campaign to visit Crystal Lake

CRYSTAL LAKE – The Gear Up, Get Ready Community Preparedness Campaign will visit the RUNdezvous Race from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Lippold Park, 951 Terra Cotta Ave.

Members of the campaign team will help visitors fill out an emergency contact card, make a family emergency plan and gather emergency supplies.

The campaign is partnering with local emergency managers, corporate partners, broadcasting associations, volunteers and community and faith-based organizations.

The campaign is overseen by the Regional Catastrophic Planning Team of Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, whose purpose is to support the preparedness efforts of local jurisdictions in planning for catastrophic events or disasters.
