Collision throws SUV into Rockford City Hall

ROCKFORD (AP) — A collision has sent a sport utility vehicle crashing into Rockford City Hall.

Police Sgt. Darin Spades says two vehicles collided Thursday morning, causing minor injuries to the drivers involved.

A photo published by the Rockford Register Star shows one of the vehicles, a Ford Explorer, on the sidewalk pressed up against the side of the City Hall building. Part of the SUV's front end was crushed.

Spades says there does not appear to be damage to City Hall, but building inspectors are at the site inspecting the building.
