McHENRY – More than 250 people celebrated with Pioneer Center at this year’s Moonlight & Music event and raised more than $140,000, its most successful event yet.
Held at the Crystal Lake Country Club, the event featured nine Chicago-area musicians who came together to create Caribé Latin Jazz Orchestra.
A highlight came midway through the evening as the Pioneer Center announced a new philosophy model called "community inclusion," according to an agency news release. Because it is not funded by the state, the agency has launched The Faces of Pioneer Annual Giving Campaign.
The campaign offers the community opportunities to sponsor the more than 500 clients with a developmental disability that Pioneer Center serves. At the end of the night, attendees had sponsored 161 clients.
Opportunities continue to be available throughout the year to sponsor clients, and individuals can learn more by visiting www.pioneercenter.org or calling 815-759-7144.
