A way to help

To the Editor:

A recent article highlighted the Grants Gala of the McHenry County Community Foundation.

The foundation has awarded nearly $700,000 this year to 65 different organizations.

This is truly a wonderful mission – to be able to give back to the many organizations that help the people of McHenry County. The overall mission of the foundation is to “build a better world in McHenry County.” We do this by connecting people who care with causes that matter, and over the past 11-plus years, we have been able to have a real impact within our communities.

This year, thanks to a special challenge grant through the PERT Foundation, we have a unique opportunity to further enhance our work within the county. For every planned giving commitment we are able to secure, the foundation will receive $25,000 for its unrestricted giving fund – up to $1 million.

If you would like to learn more about this opportunity, or how you can make a difference in McHenry County, please call Robin Doeden at 815-338-4483.
