To the Editor:

Cary residents, we have to share with you how pleased we have been with the 20 percent-plus savings on our ComEd bill.

The village’s electric aggregation agreement with FirstEnergy Solutions has clearly turned out to be in our best interest as residents.

We would recommend to anyone in Cary that has not yet joined to contact the village.

A village report in June said that the average single-family homeowner already has saved about $150. The overall village savings has been estimated at almost $800,000.

Our service is as good as ever, and we really appreciate the reduced electricity cost.

A 20 percent savings is simply superb in today’s world, where you have to fight with a bank to try to get a rate even approaching 1 percent on a certificate of deposit.

The more of us who sign up for the electrical aggregation, the better chance our village will have at negotiating a better rate in the next contract.

We’re always asked, “How do you know that? How do you find out about opportunities available to you as a resident in Cary?” You can sign up for the Cary News Weekly to be emailed to you by going to the village’s website: caryillinois.com.

The Cary News Weekly always includes great information. This week’s issue includes how you can sign up for the next class of the Cary Citizens Police Academy.

Sign up and get involved. Help your tax dollars to work better for you.
