Kindness revolution

Published: Wednesday, July 17, 2013 9:23 a.m. CDT

To the Editor:

“Practice random acts of kindness.” That’s the slogan in McHenry right now, and with support from the McHenry Chamber of Commerce and McHenry Mayor Sue Low, this endeavor is off to a great start.

The chamber of commerce office on Green Street has a supply of “Practice random acts of kindness” bumper stickers for your car, and you may pick one up just for asking.

So what is this kindness revolution all about? Simply put, it is people helping people. Things like mowing the lawn for a lady living alone. Or it could be offering encouragement to someone who has suffered a setback of some kind. There are countless things you can voluntarily do to help others. No act of kindness is too small.

In closing, we wish to give each of you a big thank you for your kindness toward one another in the past, as well as in the future.
