Wisted’s Supermarkets in Marengo, Woodstock and Huntley will become Piggly Wiggly stores effective July 31.

“We are excited to join Piggly Wiggly,” said Harold Wisted, owner of Wisted’s Supermarkets. “Customers are going to love the products and the weekly specials."

Wisted said the conversion will give customers "the best of both worlds,” providing the same local service and adding the pricing power that a chain can offer.

Wisted’s Piggly Wiggly stores will offer fresh-from-the farm produce, a bakery, a full-service deli department, a fresh meat department offering Certified Angus Beef, Gerber Amish Chicken, Farmland Pork, plus fresh and frozen seafood, and a full liquor department.

In addition to a full line of store brand products, the stores also will feature a broad variety of imported and domestic foods including an expanded line of ethnic and specialty products.

With the addition of the Wisted markets, Piggly Wiggly Midwest includes 104 Piggly Wiggly supermarkets in the greater Wisconsin and northern Illinois areas, as well as nine Butera Market stores and two Eurofresh stores in the Chicagoland area.

Wisted's markets are located at 21775 W. Grant Hwy., Marengo; 330 N. Eastwood Drive, Woodstock; and 10442 Route 47, Huntley.
