Hampshire man faces felony sex abuse charges

ST. CHARLES – A 22-year-old Hampshire man faces nine felony charges after a five-month investigation that began when a St. Charles teen reported he sexually assaulted her, according to the St. Charles Police Department.

A Kane County grand jury Tuesday indicted Nathan Lake, of the 44W000 block of Plank Road, on the following charges: four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony; two counts of indecent solicitation of a child, a Class 3 felony; and one count each of solicitation to meet a child, a Class 4 felony; traveling to meet a child, a Class 3 felony; and child abduction, a Class 4 felony, police said.

St. Charles police officers reportedly arrested Lake at his home Tuesday without incident. He was taken to the St. Charles Police Department, where he was booked, processed and taken to the Kane County Correctional Facility.

His bond was set at $100,000.
