Published: Friday, July 19, 2013 11:32 a.m. CDT

WOODSTOCK - A Wonder Lake beach is closed today after water sampling showed high levels of bacteria, according to the McHenry County Department of Health.

Shore Hills Beach will be resampled today. Three other beaches in Wonder Lake, Lookout Point, Wooded Shores and Wonder Woods 1, are open today.

All licensed county beaches on the 13 county lakes are tested every week for elevated levels of bacteria. Additional testing takes place when they are found to be high.

The health department posts an advisory or closed sign at beaches with elevated levels of E. coli.

Results and locations are available at www.mcdh.info.
