Another step backward

To the Editor:

What better way is there for liberals to demonstrate the need to eradicate racism and senseless violence than to engage in racism and senseless violence?

Trayvon Martin’s family said the death of their son was not about racism, and racism was never interjected into George Zimmerman’s trial.

But elitist liberals and black spokespeople, angry that the jurors did not come to their preordained conclusions, decided that it was time to use the race card. Following their lead, black vigilantes have attacked innocent white people and engaged in violent destructive demonstrations. Eric Holder, President Obama’s black attorney general, has decided to investigate the potential to bring charges against Zimmerman for civil-rights violations.

Nevermind the fact that Zimmerman is also a minority. It could equally be said that the campaign against Zimmerman is a racist attack. Perhaps his detractors are attacking him because he is Hispanic.

From the onset, liberals viewed this “crisis” as an opportunity too good to waste.

While people are focused on Zimmerman, they appear to have forgotten about Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the IRS scandal, the NSA scandal, eavesdropping on reporters, the economy, and border security.

With the election of Obama, it was widely believed that the sea levels would be lowered, the planet would be healed, and racism would become a distant memory.

During his presidency, the racial chasm has never been wider.

When it comes to race relations and the actions taken by the president and his liberal followers, our nation has taken another step backward.
