Don’t trick public
To the Editor:
Pay special attention to the new speed limit on East Crystal Lake Avenue in Crystal Lake.
When it comes to speed limits on this roadway, 30 is the new 40.
I am a resident on East Crystal Lake Avenue with a teenager with autism. Recently, there were at least three McHenry County police cars continually pulling over two vehicles at a time.
I am glad for the reduced speed limit; however, wouldn’t it be a bit more in the public’s interest to either put safety flags by the new signs or one of those trailers
that say, “Your Speed?”
Public officials should remember they are paid by the public to protect the public, not to
trick the public.
P.S. I think the reduced speed limits are way overdue.
