To the Editor:
I have worked alongside African-Americans, Hispanics and gay people for many years in a professional environment.
I’ve skied, drank and had caviar dinners with them. They are among the finest people I’ve known.
I say this to show I’m not biased in this post. Here’s my problem: how can members of the black community call foul about the Trayvon Martin-George Zimmerman verdict?
They don’t have access to the testimony, so isn’t it possible that there was a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman shot in self-defense?
But here’s the more important question: what would the black community do if Zimmerman were black and Martin were Hispanic? My guess? Nothing.
So sad. Please prove me wrong.
