Volunteers needed for Blast on the Beach

CRYSTAL LAKE – The Crystal Lake Park District is seeking volunteers of all ages to help out at this year's Blast on the Beach.

The event will run from 3 to 9 p.m. Aug. 10 at Crystal Lake Main Beach, 300 Lakeshore Drive. The rain date is Aug. 11.

Blast on the Beach features a children's fun fair, a craft fair, a treasure hunt, a bags tournament, food vendors, a beer and wine garden, children's entertainer Circus Boy and a live musical performance by The Lounge Puppets.

Admission is free.

Volunteers are needed to help at the entrance gate, with the children’s treasure hunt set-up, during the treasure hunt, with fun fair and food vendor set-up, as parking attendants, with cleanup throughout the event and with post-event cleanup. 

There are many opportunities for all ages. Some volunteer duties are suited toward parent/child (minimum age 10) pairs. Individual volunteers must be a minimum age 14. Volunteers should plan on working an entire shift (two to three hours), and should wear comfortable clothing.

Volunteers will receive an event staff T-shirt.
