MCCD to host First Friday concert

RINGWOOD – Cassandra Vohs-Demann will perform an acoustic show from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 2 on the back patio of the Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, Route 31 and Harts Road.

A prolific songwriter, Vohs-Demann deals with love, loss, self-reflection, and dreams in her lyrics and vocals. She grew up on a farm in Woodstock and is the owner of A Place to Shine Music, where for the past 18 years she has been teaching, performing, writing and producing music.

Attendees should bring a picnic dinner or dessert and a lawn chair and enjoy the intimate outdoor setting under the branches of ancient oaks with stunning views of the outstretched valley.

In the case of inclement weather, concerts will be moved indoors. No glass containers will be allowed. The site closes at 9 p.m.

The next First Friday concert will be Sept. 9 featuring Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos.

Registration is not required. For information call the Prairieview Education Center at 815-479-5779 or visit
