Woman flown to hospital after crash outside of McHenry

McHENRY – A 41-year-old woman was taken via Flight for Life on Friday night with serious injuries after her Jeep rolled over, the McHenry Township Fire Protection District said.

At 7:13 p.m., firefighters responded to a call of a single-vehicle accident on River Road near the McHenry Dam State Park, Battalion Chief Dave Harwood said.

The driver, whose name was not released, was trapped inside, Harwood said. It took about 10 minutes to extricate her.

She was flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries, Harwood said.

River Road was closed for about 50 minutes, Harwood said.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash, Harwood said.
