MARENGO – The Northern Illinois Fire Museum will host its annual open house and pump-in from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 10.
The event will be at the Meyer Material Pit, which is on Route 23, 4 miles south of Route 20 in Marengo.
The open house includes a flea market, museum tours, fire engine rides, games and food.
The museum has 20 antique fire vehicles that represent hand to horse to gas to diesel-fueled equipment. Private fire truck owners, municipalities and fire protection districts will have fire trucks drafting, pumping and shooting water.
Fire truck rides will be available for $1 a person.
Admission is $5 a car or van. Those who donate three nonperishable items will get $1 off admission.
The event will take place rain or shine.
