Man sentenced to 10 years in solicitation case

WHEATON – A Texas man accused of having sexually explicit conversations with a 13-year-old Downers Grove girl he met on the Internet has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

In a news release, DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said 46-year-old Rudolph Figueroa of Corpus Christi, Texas, pleaded guilty to felony charges of possession of child pornography and solicitation to meet a child. He was sentenced Thursday.

The release said that between March and June of last year, Figueroa told the girl on the telephone and in text messages that he was a 17-year-old Florida boy and even asked to meet her without her parent's approval.

During the investigation of those messages and conversations, detectives found Figueroa had images of child pornography in his possession.
