Thomas the Tank Engine to chug into Union

UNION – Thomas the Tank Engine is pulling into the Illinois Railway Museum for Day Out With Thomas: The Go Go Thomas Tour 2013.

This event offers little engineers and their families the opportunity to take a ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, star of the popular “Thomas & Friends” series, and participate in Thomas-themed activities.

Thomas will be at the railway museum, 7000 Olson Road, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 16, 17, 18, 24 and 25.

The day includes a 20-minute ride with Thomas; games and activities featuring a mystery element; the opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt, controller of the railway; a “Thomas & Friends” Imagination Station, featuring stamps, temporary tattoos, hands-on arts and crafts, train tables and coloring sheets; and storytelling, video viewing and live music.

Tickets cost $19 plus tax for those 2 and older. A service charge and fee may apply.
